About the Artist - Amy Rees

Amy Wynne Rees was born in NYC but spent her childhood in a small town outside of Syracuse. Two weeks after graduating college, Amy found herself accepting a job at CNN. She packed up her Subaru wagon and drove down to Atlanta, Georgia in the summer of 1988.

In 1995, Amy found her passion, pottery, while struggling in her first marriage. The evenings spent in the pottery studio among other creatives and women trying to find a way to express themselves was the perfect sanctuary. One day in the studio, her first plate was born. The first of many to embody a collection of women with different names and stories. These initial plates were the inspiration for what is now the Personality Plates collection.

Today, Amy still lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her third husband, Jim, and her Goldendoodle, Cleo. Their blended family includes four beautiful daughters.
