About the Artist - Amy Rees

Amy Wynne Rees was born in NYC and spent her childhood in a small town outside of Syracuse. Two weeks after graduating college, Amy accepted a job at CNN. She packed up her Subaru wagon and drove down to Atlanta, Georgia in the summer of 1988 to pursue her career and build a life of her own.

In 1995, Amy found her passion for creating pottery, while struggling in her first marriage. She found support and friendship within the walls of the pottery studio surrounded by people who understood her.

Those evenings spent at the community art center among other creative women trying to find a way to express themselves was the perfect sanctuary. One day in the studio, her first plate was born - Zelda.  The first of many plates to embody a collection of women with different names and stories. These initial plates were the inspiration for what is now the Personality Plates™ collection.

Bring out the Personality Plates when it's time to serve coffee and dessert or wine and cheese when entertaining the ladies at home. Bright and colorful, full of personality, they will bring fun and flair to the party.

Today, Amy still lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her third husband, Jim, and her Goldendoodle, Cleo. Their blended family includes four beautiful daughters and lots of personality. Amy hopes to continue adding to her collections of plates and wine charms benefiting women who need love and support, just as she once did. She hopes women continue to find sisterhood and fun over her Personality Plates™.
